A Mathematica q - Analogue

Mathematica implementations, available by email request, of q-analogues of Gosper's and Zeilberger's algorithm are described. Nontrivial examples are given in order to illustrate the usage of these packages. The algorithms are based on a new approach to q-hypergeometric telescoping in which a new algebraic concept, q-greatest factorial factorization (qGFF), plays a fundamental role.

A q-analog of Ljunggren’s binomial congruence

We prove a q-analog of a classical binomial congruence due to Ljunggren which states that ap bp ! ≡ a b ! modulo p for primes p > 5. A q-analogue of ĝl3 hierarchy and q-Painlevé VI

A q-analogue of the ĝl3 Drinfel’d-Sokolov hierarchy is proposed as a reduction of the q-KP hierarchy. Applying a similarity reduction and a q-Laplace transformation to the hierarchy, one can obtain the q-Painlevé VI equation proposed by Jimbo and Sakai.
